*therapy will not be particularly stern
Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, major life transitions, we will explore it together. I offer a warm, creative, down-to-earth approach that is client-focused and collaborative.
This work is hard but it can also be fun. I believe in finding humour in the most challenging of times and these are challenging times!
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in the performing arts. My passion for creative collaboration and deep curiosity about the human condition inform my therapy practice. I am particularly interested in attachment theory and how our own attachment patterns influence our adult relationships, how we parent our children and how we feel about ourselves in the world.
I work with individuals and couples. I aim to help clients bring awareness to their patterns of thoughts and feelings. I encourage clients to talk about their experiences and listen with acceptance, curiosity, playfulness and empathy. Together, we explore the power of their significant relationships, both past and present in shaping their view of themselves and the world around them. I work from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive framework that acknowledges the client's intersectionality (class, gender, race, sexual orientation, etc) and that explores how society impacts the client(s).
Everyone is welcome in my practice.
